Louis and Philippe

This seventeenth century painting is hilarious in some way.
We see Louis, the King of France in his minority, accompanied by his brother Philippe, two years younger, dressed as a little lady.
Philippe would come to be known as overtly gay and entertaining a court of beautiful man. It did not prevent him from fathering children and nurturing his fortune by shrewd financial management.
