Between Dream and Thought

Between Dream and Thought

Between Dream and Thought

Marforio speaks:

After all these words you wonder:
Are dreams the same as thoughts?
Does the report of restless nights—
Seas of fire, gruesome murders—
Belong to the theme?

A dream deceives; thoughts do not—
They rush real and true through our brains,
Even when derailed.

Where begins deceit, where truth?
Does this cycle offer clarity?

The stream of dreams is strange,
Full of horror and sorrow;
Ups and downs bring weariness
And call for moderation.
