Isaiah 62
No longer shall you be called Forsaken,
Nor your land named Desolate.
No longer parched, no longer damned,
No longer flung like a stone in dust.
I may say it now, you may know it:
Your name is Desire.
The Lord of hosts has praised your name;
He longs for you, is captivated by you.
You are chosen, marked,
The focal point of heavenly longing.
The bridegroom comes with festive sound
To take you in his arms,
To claim you as lawful bride.
Heaven breaks out in song and jubilation.
(From Isaiah 62:4–5b)
