Dokter Peter Van Breusegem

In the early 1980s, Peter Van Breusegem (b. 1956) graduated as a doctor of medicine, surgery and obstetrics, magna cum laude. He started as a general practitioner in Uccle, at the time when the AIDS epidemic reached the world. That period left a deep impression and led him to engage in AIDS activism. He co-founded The Foundation and worked for years to make AIDS a topic of discussion in the media and public debate.

In the 1990s, he built a practice in Brussels that was explicitly open to everyone, regardless of orientation, gender or origin. Today, with more than forty years of experience, he has a practice in Erembodegem (Aalst), where he helps patients with complex problems.

In his author section on this website, he publishes articles on medical topics based on recent scientific literature and honed with his experience as a general practitioner.

Doctor Van Breusegem’s medical website provides practical information regarding the practice in Aalst.
