Il arrive parfois que quelqu\u2019un me demande si je ne connais pas un bon psychiatre. Je r\u00e9ponds alors g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement par une boutade : les bons sont complets et les mauvais sont mauvais. C\u2019est l\u2019am\u00e8re v\u00e9rit\u00e9. Je n\u2019aime pas les psychiatres qui prescrivent des benzodiaz\u00e9pines ou qui se d\u00e9barrassent facilement du probl\u00e8me d\u2019une autre mani\u00e8re, mais passons.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les rares bons psys dont nous disposons doivent \u00eatre r\u00e9serv\u00e9s aux personnes qui ont le plus besoin d\u2019eux, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire aux patients psychiatriques. Le psychologue est indiqu\u00e9 lorsqu\u2019une th\u00e9rapie par la parole est n\u00e9cessaire, ce que le psychiatre n\u2019a g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement pas le temps de faire.<\/span><\/p>\n

Je me r\u00e9p\u00e8te peut-\u00eatre en disant que l\u2019accessibilit\u00e9 des soins de sant\u00e9 mentale est ici, dans notre pays, insuffisante. Dans le secteur subventionn\u00e9, les listes d\u2019attente vont d\u2019ici jusqu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019horizon, et dans le secteur payant, les soins sont souvent trop chers pour les familles d\u00e9favoris\u00e9es que nous recevons dans notre cabinet.<\/span><\/p>\n

C\u2019est pourquoi, en tant que m\u00e9decin g\u00e9n\u00e9raliste, je me suis souvent vu contraint d\u2019intervenir comme si j\u2019\u00e9tais psychoth\u00e9rapeute ou psychiatre. En tant que g\u00e9n\u00e9raliste, je peux assumer les deux r\u00f4les. Nous pouvons sans cesse changer de casquette. Cela ne signifie pas que je sois particuli\u00e8rement dou\u00e9 dans ces domaines, mais il faut bien, par n\u00e9cessit\u00e9, trouver une r\u00e9ponse, parce que les besoins et les demandes sont si grands, tandis que la volont\u00e9 de notre soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019y r\u00e9pondre, ou m\u00eame simplement de les comprendre, est tr\u00e8s faible.<\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019exemple par excellence d\u2019un probl\u00e8me de logiciel dans la psychologie de m\u00e9decine g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, et ce n\u2019est nullement p\u00e9joratif, est le trouble de stress post-traumatique. Il s\u2019agit de personnes qui ont subi une atteinte \u00e0 la suite d\u2019un \u00e9v\u00e9nement grave qui a boulevers\u00e9 leur vie.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prenons le cas le plus pur : les victimes d\u2019un attentat terroriste. Il y a eu un moment dans leur vie o\u00f9 tout a explos\u00e9. Elles ont perdu quelque chose ou quelqu\u2019un, un membre de leur famille ou un membre de leur corps. \u00c0 cela s\u2019ajoute le deuil, mais aussi toute la question de la mani\u00e8re dont nous, en tant que soci\u00e9t\u00e9, les accompagnons.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les sentiments d\u2019injustice continuent souvent \u00e0 ronger, non seulement en raison de la perte subie, mais aussi \u00e0 cause de la lenteur et de l\u2019opacit\u00e9 des proc\u00e9dures de r\u00e9paration des dommages.<\/span><\/p>\n
